First published in 2010, The Grand Design by Stephen Hawking is a thought-provoking science book co-written by Leonard Mlodinow. In this book, both physicists explores and inspects the history and theories of science in finding explanations on the existence of the universe. It states that the Big Bang is purely a result of the physics laws and bringing up God is probably unnecessary to explain the origins of the universe. In defending his view, Hawking once said, “One can’t prove that God doesn’t exist, but science makes God unnecessary.”
Most noteworthy for its radical view on youth spirit, A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess is now considered a cult. It is an absolutely amazing novel of dystopian science fiction and many regards it as a classic. In a brilliant and terrifying way, the book pictures a form of extreme youth subculture and how the establishment tries to reform the youth.
